Scary morning

By Leila

We woke up this morning, ready to get up and go to church. Before we actually got out of bed, we received a call from my stepsister letting me know that my dad had had a heart attack and was in the hospital.

We’re now in Richmond at the hospital and luckily, he’s stable. He had a minor heart attack on his way to work and decided to drive to the hospital. While the ER docs were checking him out, he starting having a major heart attack. Steve (the RN) says that if he hadn’t been in the ER, he probably wouldn’t have made it.

My dad’s back to making jokes and watching football. =). He was complaining about something and my stepmom said that he was lucky to be here because otherwise he wouldn’t be able to complain. He countered that he would STILL have been complaining and probably MORE so. =)

I’m just feeling so lucky and blessed right now. I may be 30, but I still need my daddy.

So scary. I am glad that he is doing well. What a blessing. My father passed away in a very similar situation, we still love and miss him everyday! He would have been an awesome Grandpa!

Leila – I am just reading this news now…sorry I’ve been a bit behind on checking blogs lately. I am so sorry that your dad had a heart attack – thank God he was in the ER already. I hope he is recovering well and on the road to a full recovery.
